MAKING A PURCHASE

From The Shaker Kitchen & Furniture Workshop we can accept cheques, money orders or BACs payments.  You should contact us in the first instance to arrange a purchase and we can advise you on delivery charges.  The Shaker Kitchen & Furniture Workshop does not accept payments by credit or debit card for manufacturing works. 

From Calico Crafts, just browse our catalogue and click the "buy" button on any items that you wish to purchase to put them in your shopping basket.  After you have finished your selection, click on "Checkout" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

Calico Crafts accepts all major credit and debit cards.  We require verification by our credit card processing company that the delivery address is the same as that of the Cardholder (as registered with the respective credit card issuing company). We reserve the right to refuse acceptance of any order that does not comply with this requirement or where there is any doubt as to the validity of the card. On a successfully completed on-line order, an e-receipt will be automatically transmitted to your nominated email address - please print this and keep it for your records.

You may send your credit/debit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the internet which is the safest way as we use 128 bit encryption.  For your security, DO NOT send credit card details by e-mail. Cheques are also accepted but funds need to clear before your order is processed. DO NOT send cash through the post. 


PURCHASING FROM ABROAD  

The Shaker Kitchen & Furniture Workshop does not accept overseas orders.  

Calico Crafts  accepts orders in US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, Irish Punts and Euros.  If you are purchasing from outside the United Kingdom please contact us by telephone (+44 1353 624100) or by email - info@calicocrafts.co.uk - with your requirements.  We will then give you a correct price including delivery to your destination address for your approval.  Payments made by credit card will be converted to your own currency by your credit card company.


PRICE & VAT (Value Added Tax) - All purchases are charged in Pounds Sterling.  All prices include VAT at 17.5% where required.  You will automatically receive an email confirmation receipt. If you are exempt from VAT (for example ordering outside of the European Union) please contact us at info@calicocrafts.co.uk or info@theshakerkitchenandfurnitureworkshop.co.uk for details of how you can order tax free.

We honour the prices shown in our Catalogue. Should a product be increased in price (i.e the cost of raw materials or prices increase to us by a significant amount) and you have already placed an order, you will not be charged the increased price.


CREDIT CARD SECURITY - We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the internet. Card details are  encrypted by Actinic's built-in encryption using 128 bit Java encryption which is approved by all leading UK banks.  All that passes over the internet is a scrambled message and card details are not held in clear text on any web site. This system is the safest way to buy and is safer than passing your details over the phone lines and at least as safe as passing your card over a shop counter.  

If you place an order by telephone or post, as soon as credit card details are processed they are deleted from our records and any paper notes containing card numbers are shredded prior to burning.

The ordering system allows you to make several other choices of payment method. If for any reason you do not wish to purchase a product via our secure e-commerce facility you are welcome to purchase by mail order or to send your card details separately (by fax or post). POSTAGE AND PACKING - Charges are made according to the total weight of your order  and the system will calculate this for you. We do not charge extra for any handling fees. Saturday only, guaranteed next day or specified am/pm deliveries will incur an additional charge - if you require any of these services, please contact us in the first instance.  

LOCAL DELIVERIES can usually be made free of charge for furniture items and smaller items can be collected in person.

DELIVERY SCHEDULE - Many of our furniture products are sold in a way that allows you to customise them to suit your own taste and decor by choosing the timber and finish you require. On receipt of your order we manufacture your purchases according to your instructions. We hope that being able to purchase items in this way will add to your enjoyment of them as being individual to yourself. You will be advised about time frames at the time of placing your order.  If you require a purchase by a specific date, i.e for a birthday gift, please telephone us in the first instance and we will confirm whether this is possible before you place your order.

Our "sold as seen" products where no customisation is offered (including Calico Crafts products) are dispatched within 7 - 14 days of receipt of order. We will always strive to dispatch your order as soon as possible and it is only in unusual circumstances beyond our control where we will exceed our estimated delivery schedules.

You are more than welcome to contact us prior to placing an order and we will advise you on delivery schedules and stock availability. Once you have placed an order, if we are unable to fulfill your order within our normal timeframe you will be contacted as soon as we become aware of this and you will have the option of canceling your order.


BACK ORDERS - If your item is not in stock, we will back order it for you.  You will always be contacted with the option of canceling all or part of your order if you would rather not wait.


RETURNS -  All products are guaranteed free from fault.  Should any item fail to satisfy then we will accept their return for a full refund if they are returned carriage paid to us within 7 working days which period commences on the day after you receive the goods.  Returned goods are subject to being received by us in their original unused condition.  Please indicate the reason for returning the goods. 

In the case of goods which are bubble packed or in sealed packaging then these goods will only be accepted for a refund if the packaging is unbroken and undamaged.  

Should any item prove to be faulty either on receipt or after a reasonable amount of use then the goods may be returned for either replacement or a full refund irrespective of the condition of the packaging, but subject to the product not having been abused or misused in any way.  This will be determined by either ourselves or our suppliers depending on the item in question and our supplier's policy with regard to faulty goods. We will refund the cost of returning faulty goods.

In the case of "damaged in transit" items, we will refund the cost of returning them subject to our carrier having inspected the goods and the packaging in accordance with the terms of our insurance.  

We cannot normally accept the return of goods which have been manufactured to your specifications unless they prove to be faulty as we cannot necessarily re-sell bespoke goods.  Dependant on the product, we may agree to the return of bespoke goods subject to them being returned at your expense in a resalable condition within 7 days of receipt. We may levy a restocking fee and deduct this amount from any refund due.  Do not order bespoke goods unless you are sure the wood, finish or customisation is what you require - you are more than welcome to call us on 01353 721605 or email us at info@theshakerkitchenandfurnitureworkshop.co.uk and we will advise you without obligation before you place an order.  

Once a return under the above paragraphs has been agreed, your money will be refunded within 30 days of cancellation.


GUARANTEES - All of our products are new and fully guaranteed.  All products manufactured by us come with a 30 day guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials subject to normal wear and tear and the products being used for the purpose for which they were intended.  All other products are covered by the manufacturer's warranty which is detailed with the product and for which the appropriate manufacturer is responsible (we will deal with any manufacturer's warranty issues for you during the guarantee period).  If you have any questions regarding products sold to you please feel free to contact us.


PRIVACY POLICY - We do not disclose customer information to any third parties except in order to arrange a delivery relating to an order you have placed.  Cookies are used on this shopping site but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item.  We will only collect the personal information that is necessary to complete your order (during the check-out process) or request personal information (for instance by email) which is required to answer any enquiry you may have.  We will not collect or request any other personal information from you.  All information is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

We will not send any email to you or telephone you without your consent, other than where connected with a current order, i.e  to advise of delivery dates, backorders etc (see also Opt-In Mailing List below). Helen Taylor is the person responsible for all matters relating to our privacy policy.


OPT-IN MAILING LIST - You may opt-in to our mailing lists by registering through our Mailing List form. You will only receive contact when the site is updated or, where you have opted to receive information by post, when new special offers are available. You will only be asked to give your name and email address and you can request to be removed at any time at which point we will delete these details.  In order to opt-in to our Calico Crafts Super Savers quarterly newsletter we will require your address details which will only be used for this purpose (i.e you will receive no unrelated mailings).  Again, you can request to be removed at any time and again we will immediately delete your details from our system.


COMPLAINTS - All complaints will be dealt with as soon as they are received and a reply will be made  within 5 days by the same method as that used to convey the original complaint.  Our reply will outline any action or remedy that we can make to satisfy your grievance.  If a remedy cannot be found immediately we will keep you informed as to progress towards a workable solution that is satisfactory to both parties. 

If after 14 days we cannot resolve the complaint then, where applicable, a full refund will be made.  Where the complaint refers to our quality of service then we will address the problem with immediate effect, where possible, and will inform you of any action we have taken to ensure the problem does not re-occur.  We aim to provide a fair and effective remedy to all complaints which will be treated in the strictest of confidence.  Stephen Webb is responsible for all matters relating to our complaints procedure.


REMITTANCE TERMS:

All goods must be paid for in full before dispatch and in the case of specially produced goods these must be paid for prior to manufacture.
